Should we re paint the home before selling?
I get this question all the time from sellers; Should we re paint the entire home before we put the home on the market?
YES. Buyers love fresh interior and exterior paint but it has to be done right and with the right colors.
So if any room in your home looks like this (see picture below), without a doubt the answer is YES- if you want to get the most amount of money for your home.
As a listing agent, I see walls like this all the time. Especially bank owned homes. Homes like this will sell but for far less money.
For the home owner that wants to sell their home and get the most amount of money for it, yes please repaint the interior and exterior if it has not been done recently and with the right colors. What a buyer sees when the home has been repainted is that it is a large expense they do not need to take care of. It also gives the emotional feeling that the seller is invested into selling their home because they have put time and money into selling it.
If you are looking to sell your home, here are some great light neutral colors to paint the interior of your home.\
Benjamin Moore Colors:
2. CREAMY WHITE (AKA SPRING IN ASPEN)
3. EDGECOMB GRAY
5. FRENCH CANVAS
6. LANCASTER WHITEWASH
7. MARITIME WHITE
8. OLD PRARIE
These interior colors are light and neutral enough to go with just about any decor.
